The Challenge
Flückiger Électricité, a specialist in electrical installations and engineering based in Switzerland, was looking to expand its services to include maintenance. One of their customers, watch manufacturer G&F Châtelain, was looking for a maintenance partner. They wanted to choose a company that had set up the electrical installation and could provide visibility into the maintenance schedule.
The Solution
Flückiger Électricité chose Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Facility Expert, a cloud-based software that could be customized to perfectly fit Flückiger’s industrial customers’ needs. With the digital logbook feature, their field technician can easily access key information about customer installations, including maintenance history, reports, and documentation just by scanning a QR code. The software also enables monitoring of connected assets and provides insights into equipment performance and energy consumption. Flückiger also joined the EcoXpert™ Partner Program and gained the Connected Power badge, which means that they passed a comprehensive training program to reach the highest levels of competency in the industry.

This is what and has driven them to make their projectors IoT-enabled. More specifically, Panasonic has developed a system that collects data from projectors, visualizes detailed operational statuses, and predicts issues and address them before failure occurs. Their projectors are embedded with a variety of sensors that measure power supply, voltage, video input/ output signals, intake/exhaust air temperatures, cooling fan operations, and light bulb operating time. These sensors have been used to make the projector more intelligent, automatically suspending operation when the temperature rises excessively, and automatically switching light bulbs. Although this was a great first step, Panasonic projectors were still not equipped with any capability to send the data over a network.
