About The Customer
Beam Suntory was created in 2014 when the world leader in bourbon combined with the pioneer in Japanese whisky to form a new company with a deep heritage. The company's brand identity draws on over 350 years of combined history, with historical artifacts that include everything from 100-year old Beam family photographs to advertisements written by Mark Twain. The company has a wide range of stakeholders, including teams, distributors, agencies, and trade users such as restaurants.
The Challenge
Beam Suntory, a company with over 350 years of combined history, faced a significant challenge in managing their historical assets. These assets, which included 100-year old family photographs and advertisements written by Mark Twain, were integral to the company's brand identity. However, without a centralized and searchable repository for these archival contents, it was difficult to incorporate these cultural artifacts into their current brand narrative for use in marketing materials and campaigns. The lack of a unified system for managing these assets posed a significant challenge in maintaining brand consistency and leveraging their unique history for market differentiation.
The Solution
To address this challenge, Beam Suntory invested in a digital asset management (DAM) solution, Acquia DAM, in 2017. This system, named the DAL (short for digital asset library), quickly became the central source of truth for not only historical assets but also marketing and product content. The system stores over 120,427 assets across hundreds of brands and sub-brands and is used by a range of stakeholders, including teams, distributors, agencies, and trade users. To further streamline access to essential brand assets, Beam Suntory integrated Acquia DAM with other tools, including Sharepoint, which is heavily used by their distributors. This integration allowed for assets to be synced from the DAM system to their Sharepoint site, providing easy access to essential assets with one click.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
