About The Customer
The M Resort is a 90-acre Las Vegas casino-resort that offers a variety of amenities to attract new guests and keep loyal customers returning. The resort is located in a dynamic environment that is respected for its gambling fun, amazing food, eye-popping shows, and top-tier shopping that draws the business traveler, convention attendees, and families. To succeed in this environment, the M Resort is utilizing technology to gain a competitive advantage. The resort uses IP networking solutions from Brocade to manage its voice services, Internet access over the wireless LAN, video to digital signs, and data on digital slot machines over a single IP network.
The Challenge
The M Resort, a 90-acre Las Vegas casino-resort, was looking to gain a competitive advantage in the dynamic environment of Las Vegas. The resort wanted to develop and deliver innovative gaming applications and advanced IP unified communications services (data, voice, wireless, and video) throughout the resort over a highly reliable network that must be available on a 24×7 basis. The resort was also looking to reduce operating costs and scale quickly to support increased bandwidth demands. The network had to be flexible enough to adapt easily to the newest gaming applications and guest or conference requests.
The Solution
The M Resort chose Brocade as its IP network provider due to their previous positive experience with Brocade IP solutions. The resort implemented Brocade FastIron GS Series, Brocade NetIron MLX Series, and Brocade Mobility solutions. The high-performance Brocade network supports more than 1200 Voice over IP (VoIP) phones, 400 PCs, 1900 slot machines, guest room mini-bars, digital signage, and more. The network serves customers and guests, as well as employees responsible for payroll and other back-of-the-house operations. The network is designed to support the fluid nature of casino resorts, readily supporting any adjustments that the M Resort needs to make.
