The Challenge
KPM Industries, a leading supplier of street, parking lot, and highway construction services in Southern Ontario, was facing challenges with its in-house spreadsheet-based system for field tracking and analysis. The system was difficult to support, and reporting was always an issue. The company needed a solution that could provide real-time job performance data to senior management and operations personnel. The existing system was also paper-based, which made data entry and report generation inefficient.
The Solution
KPM Industries implemented B2W Track for field tracking and analysis. The software provided immediate access to job performance data through a browser-based interface. This allowed the company to get real-time information to management and accounting more quickly and efficiently. The software also improved the month-end process by allowing the company to track costs in the same way as in their accounting software. B2W Track also replaced paper-based processes, streamlining data entry and report generation. The software also allowed users to attach files containing pertinent information to a job or in a daily field log, keeping the controller up to speed on the status of the job site and any problems that may arise throughout the project. Following the success with B2W Track, KPM implemented B2W Estimate for estimating and bidding, creating a unified solution.
