About The Customer
Originating from the Brazilian full-contact sport of Vale tudo (anything goes), the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debuted in the United States in 1993. Today it has grown into one of the most valuable and most recognized sports franchises in the world, promoting competition of the most effective and skilled mixed martial arts. UFC brings us legendary battles, shocking finishes, and historic debuts with high-profile events hosted in the U.S. and around the world, in countries including Brazil, Philippines, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and Mexico, and more. UFC remains one of the fastest growing sports organizations in the world with an ever expanding fan following that includes people of all ages, backgrounds, educational levels, and professions.
The Challenge
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has grown into one of the most valuable and most recognized sports franchises in the world. With its rise in popularity, the need for a greater focus on security became apparent. A key challenge UFC faced was to ensure staff security with a control system designed to eliminate unauthorized access to and throughout its offices and facilities. While UFC’s office facility had an access control system in place, it was inadequate and did not offer the extensive functionality and versatility of a premium access control system. There were considerable reliability concerns.
The Solution
UFC approached A&B Security Group, a renowned Las Vegas security and lock expert, to discuss its needs. It wasn’t long before UFC learned what Keyscan Access Control Systems had to offer. The initial project was installed by A&B Security Group, a company with years of experience and a number of similar and successful installations in the past. This installation began at UFC’s home office in Las Vegas. It consisted of a combination of Keyscan’s single-door and multi-door control panels. At the time, it controlled a total of 50 doors, in six separate buildings, all regulated by Keyscan’s access control management software. Since this installation, UFC has put the entire Keyscan system to the test. It serves multiple buildings; it integrates well with other existing systems, and it keeps up with expansion objectives.

Visual Management on Gas Tankers
Gas tankers are massive ships with a limited crew, making them extremely difficult to monitor. Video surveillance systems, which use a large number of widely distributed devices, and fire prevention systems are both crucial elements of a gas tanker monitoring system. The system used for this application is a legacy analog CCTV surveillance system that is completely independent from the main monitor and control SCADA system. With this system, the administrator responds to an event by first using the SCADA system to locate the event, and then accesses the appropriate surveillance camera from the CCTV system to view the location. The goal is to upgrade the system so that only one step is required. This is done by integrating the CCTV surveillance system into the SCADA system, in which case the surveillance system becomes a SCADA sub-system, making centralized control and monitoring possible.System Requirements- Upgrade to an IP video surveillance system for integration with the existing SCADA system- Live video display (through the SCADA system)- Enable events in the SCADA system to automatically trigger live video display- All the devices need to be of rugged design and have an anti-explosion defense

Beer Distributor Improves Security, Shipping Capacity, and Service
Enjoy a beer on the upper Texas Gulf Coast, and you can probably thank Del Papa Distributing Company. Founded more than a century ago, the company today distributes 10 million cases of beer annually, from 30 suppliers. More than 375 employees work at headquarters in Texas City and two other distribution centers. The family-owned company has a simple aim: to be a great beer distribution company. So when Del Papa set out to build a new 27-acre headquarters, company leaders thought about how technology could contribute to its greatness. “We wanted the new distribution center to have a single, secure network we could use for physical security, communications, collaboration, and even monitoring the temperature of our inventory,” says Steve Holtsclaw, Manager of Information Systems for Del Papa. The old building, in contrast, had separate networks for voice, data, video, and physical security. Separate networks were expensive and got in the way of business. For example, personnel could only monitor video surveillance cameras from certain workstations. And Wi-Fi performance in the warehouse area wasn’t reliable enough for the voice-activated order-picking system.

River Rock Casino’s Surveillance
Doug Gilroy and Mark Bayrock of Advanced Audio Concepts, a Vancouver-based systems integrator, were given free reign to design, install and operate River Rock's complex surveillance system. Gilroy had freedom to design the system with several unique aspects, such as the use of video balun technology to integrate quickly, and an innovative design in the tech room that makes it easier for the operator to spot problems. The integrators also had a long-standing relationship with Honeywell and chose to use Honeywell products almost exclusively throughout the installation.
