About The Customer
The customers in this case are the clients of the local tour agency, Friend in Iceland, and the Icelandic Europcar franchisee, Holdur. These customers are individuals who are interested in exploring Iceland independently, without the need for a physical tour guide. They are tech-savvy and prefer to have all necessary information and services at their fingertips. They value the convenience of having a comprehensive guide, safety and travel information, local weather updates, and the ability to book activities directly from a single app.
The Challenge
The local tour agency, Friend in Iceland, and Icelandic Europcar franchisee, Holdur, were faced with the challenge of providing a comprehensive guidance experience for their customers. The goal was to enable customers to explore Iceland independently, while also establishing a communication channel and creating additional revenue streams. The challenge was to create a solution that would not only guide the customers through their journey but also provide safety and travel information, local weather updates, and bookable activities.
The Solution
The solution was the development of a self-drive tour guide app using a white-label template app and the Locatify Creator CMS. This allowed for the integration of maps, points of interest, GPS tour guides, safety and travel information, local weather updates, notifications, and bookable activities through API integration. The app uses the latest Automatic Tourist Guide app template, which features a modern design with customizable home page background image and card style buttons for linking to the main app features. The guided self-drive tours use GPS to trigger media content on location and provide navigation to each point of interest. The app also connects to a third-party booking software using an API integration, allowing clients to book a variety of attractions and activities directly from the app.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
