The Challenge
Brigham Young University was facing significant challenges in managing multiple solutions and vendors. The management burden was high and the university had a mandate to implement Disaster Recovery (DR) and improve backup/recovery. The existing infrastructure was not efficient and was causing delays in deploying new workloads.
The Solution
The university decided to implement HPE SimpliVity Hyperconverged Infrastructure to address their challenges. HPE SimpliVity is a hyperconverged technology that brings all IT infrastructure and data services below the hypervisor into a single compact data center appliance. The HPE SimpliVity 380, based on the world’s best-selling server, is a compact, scalable building block that delivers server, storage, backup and DR in a 2U appliance. It includes built-in backup and bandwidth-efficient replication to help ensure data integrity and availability. The university used HPE SimpliVity for data center consolidation, private cloud, infrastructure modernization, technology refresh, and data migration.
