The Challenge
Fundación MEDINA, a non-profit research organization based in Granada, Spain, specializes in natural products microbiology, chemistry, and high throughput screening. However, they needed a system to manage their experimentations in terms of time, efficiency, and drug discovery processes.
The Solution
Dotmatics’ Studies Notebook Platform was chosen by MEDINA to manage their experimentations. This platform provides a highly customized, nimble way of recording drug discovery, natural products chemistry, microbiological, and general data in a compliant Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN). The Dotmatics notebook creates a true collaborative environment where researchers can share ideas and discuss results in real time. Additional modules such as Register and Biology can be implemented to enable scientists to cover the complete workflow. User-controlled security access across the entire platform ensures both the safekeeping of data as well as integrity.

Hospital Inventory Management
The hospital supply chain team is responsible for ensuring that the right medical supplies are readily available to clinicians when and where needed, and to do so in the most efficient manner possible. However, many of the systems and processes in use at the cancer center for supply chain management were not best suited to support these goals. Storage of supplies was also a key consideration given the location of the cancer center’s facilities in a dense urban setting, where space is always at a premium. In order to address the challenges outlined above, the hospital sought a solution that would provide real-time inventory information with high levels of accuracy, reduce the level of manual effort required and enable data driven decision making to ensure that the right supplies were readily available to clinicians in the right location at the right time.
