The Challenge
Schenker Deutschland AG needed to standardize the transition between its global network and branch offices, ensuring stringent controls to prevent data or process manipulations. The solution had to be suitable for smaller branches with limited IT expertise and require minimal local administrative intervention. Additionally, the project aimed to centralize management processes to increase configuration security and reduce administrative costs. The rollout had to be completed within a limited time frame due to the company's 24/7 operations.
The Solution
Schenker Deutschland AG chose Barracuda NG Firewalls for their security architecture. The decision was based on extensive evaluations and testing of various security solutions. Barracuda NG Firewalls met the stringent specifications required by Schenker, including centralized management, scalability, and minimal local administrative intervention. The rollout was planned and executed with the help of Barracuda Networks Partner Atos Origin, involving a current status evaluation in ten representative branch offices. Pre-configurations were transferred to Barracuda NG Firewalls, which were then rolled out in close succession, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes. The centralized management and monitoring system proved effective, allowing for real-time monitoring and quick issue resolution.
