About The Customer
Bandsintown is a music discovery platform with over 60 million users. It is designed to keep fans informed about upcoming live music events, providing personalized concert alerts and new-music recommendations. Bandsintown’s platform also enables artists to reach their fans by promoting tours, album releases, limited merchandise, and more. In 2020, Bandsintown started developing its own live stream product, Bandsintown PLUS, which is an all-access pass to exclusive live stream concerts. The company is committed to providing a rich live music experience for viewers and a professional performance environment for artists.
The Challenge
Bandsintown, a popular music discovery platform with over 60 million users, was faced with the challenge of enhancing its new live streaming concert platform, Bandsintown PLUS. The platform was designed to provide an all-access pass to exclusive live stream concerts, allowing users to attend up to 25 live streamed concerts each month. However, Bandsintown recognized the need for a feature-rich chat functionality to foster engagement during concert broadcasts and artist Q&As. The company wanted to avoid using third-party live stream tools and instead sought to build a custom platform that would provide a rich live music experience for viewers and a professional performance environment for artists.
The Solution
Having already been a Stream Feeds customer, Bandsintown decided to integrate Stream Chat into their platform using the Stream Chat Android SDK. The integration process took less than three months and was facilitated by the support provided by Stream via a shared Slack channel. Bandsintown leveraged Stream Chat to allow their viewers to engage with each other and with performing artists during live streams. The chat feature was made an opt-in option for Bandsintown PLUS audience members, with around 35-40% of viewers choosing to participate in the chat experience. Bandsintown plans to experiment with the chat functionality in the future by removing the opt-in requirement and automatically displaying the chat box to viewers.

Greater Peace of Mind with Pentair
When severe weather hits, the potential damage to a home could be disastrous. Insurance claims for flooding damage exceed $3 billion per year in the United States, and most homeowners are not even covered for even basic water damage to carpet, drywall, electrical, furniture and personal items. Sump pumps are one of the best defenses against flood damage, but when storms knock out electricity, traditional sump pumps are rendered useless. As a seller of water management and equipment protection, Pentair sought a communication platform that will support a wide range of Pentair Internet-connected products.

MICROMEDIA’S ALERT ASSISTS AIR LIQUIDE’S SCADA SYSTEM FABVIEW
WIN-911’s partner product ALERT is a key element in the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system “FabView” from Air Liquide. Air Liquide is the second largest supplier of industrial gasses in the world. This SCADA alarm notification system is specifically designed to monitor, among other things, the distribution of gas in a semiconductor manufacturing plant located in Dresden Germany. Like most operations of its type, this facility can’t afford much downtime in its distribution facility. If ALERT detects a leak in a pipeline, the system evaluates how severe the leak is and transfers the data back to the central site or home office. Once the information is back in the main office, the SCADA alert system then transcribes the data into understandable messages to which employees can respond appropriately.

Eseye Pipe Leakage Detection
3.3 billion litres of water are lost through leaking pipes each day in the UK. As a result, water authorities face increasing demand to find innovative ways to monitor water flow within pipes. Currently, GSM data loggers are used to monitor water flow wirelessly and improve the efficiency of dealing with leaks. The big problem with GSM loggers is they use a network specific SIM, which means different SIMs are required for different locations due to network coverage.
