About The Customer
Horizons Consulting is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner firm that has been focusing on email messaging and collaboration services integration since 1994. The company has served a wide variety of enterprise clients in many different industries and geographic locales. With an exceptional team of Microsoft certified consultants, they deliver technical expertise in Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Office 365, Lync and Windows Server Active Directory. The Challenge
Horizons Consulting, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner firm, was in need of a cost-effective communications solution that would offer scalability and reliability. The company specializes in email messaging and collaboration services integration and has served a wide variety of enterprise clients in many different industries and geographic locales. They were not satisfied with the services of their previous provider due to significant deployment, billing, and number portability issues. As a small organization with a highly distributed base of remote employees, it was crucial for Horizons to partner with an experienced communications company that could provide a proven level of reliability and quality deployment.
The Solution
Horizons Consulting chose IntelePeer and its CoreCloud™ SIP Trunking as their new communications solution. The transition to IntelePeer was seamless and took less than four hours to port Horizon’s Direct Inward Dialing (DID) numbers to remote workers leveraging an over-the-top deployment model that did not require carrying traffic over their MPLS network. This was essential to providing cost-effective support for Horizon’s U.S. presence. In addition, IntelePeer offered a cost-effective service resiliency solution via the installation of a second trunk in their Disaster Recovery (DR) data center. Furthermore, with IntelePeer SIP trunking for Microsoft Lync, IntelePeer provided Horizons a pre-made checklist of key features necessary for the secure routing of the company’s communications, enabling greater efficiency, and crystal clear and secure connections.

Improving Production Line Efficiency with Ethernet Micro RTU Controller
Moxa was asked to provide a connectivity solution for one of the world's leading cosmetics companies. This multinational corporation, with retail presence in 130 countries, 23 global braches, and over 66,000 employees, sought to improve the efficiency of their production process by migrating from manual monitoring to an automatic productivity monitoring system. The production line was being monitored by ABB Real-TPI, a factory information system that offers data collection and analysis to improve plant efficiency. Due to software limitations, the customer needed an OPC server and a corresponding I/O solution to collect data from additional sensor devices for the Real-TPI system. The goal is to enable the factory information system to more thoroughly collect data from every corner of the production line. This will improve its ability to measure Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and translate into increased production efficiencies. System Requirements • Instant status updates while still consuming minimal bandwidth to relieve strain on limited factory networks • Interoperable with ABB Real-TPI • Small form factor appropriate for deployment where space is scarce • Remote software management and configuration to simplify operations
