About The Customer
NatureFresh Farms is a 175-acre sustainable greenhouse located in Leamington, Ontario, and Delta, Ohio. They grow a variety of tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumber varieties. Since 1999, they have grown to become one of the largest independent greenhouse produce growers in Canada and one of the largest family-owned bell pepper growers in North America. Their highly automated greenhouse uses technology and science to drive continued growth. The Challenge
NatureFresh Farms faced the challenge of managing multiple locations in Ontario and Ohio, ensuring continuous access to 12.3 terabytes of historical 'Green Data.' This data is crucial for their operations as it allows them to look back in time to see how they treated the crop to either replicate or do it differently next time. The need for continuous uptime was critical, as any loss of network connectivity could result in damage to the crop. Additionally, they needed a reliable backup solution to replace their previously manual method of backing up to a local NAS.

This was a significant improvement over their previous manual method of backing up to a local NAS. The Datto SIRIS solution provided a reliable and efficient way to ensure business continuity. During a real disaster scenario, Keith Bradley was able to perform a local virtual restore from his iPhone within 3-5 minutes, ensuring that the farm operations continued without interruption. The Datto SIRIS solution allowed NatureFresh Farms to avoid downtime, data loss, and any additional intervention from Xylotek Solutions or Datto Support.
