For more than 40 years, CWB National Leasing has made it more affordable for Canadian businesses to secure the equipment they need. With headquarters in Winnipeg, the organization employs more than 350 staff members and has served more than 70,000 clients across numerous industries, including commercial, agriculture, construction, transportation, forestry, healthcare, and golf and turf.
The Challenge
CWB National Leasing, Canada’s largest and longest-standing equipment financing company, needed to deliver a single version of truth spanning its most critical information sources – applications for receivables management, credit, and leasing. The company needed a solid analytics strategy to help their staff access and use data in the most efficient way possible. The company reviews 4,000 applications each month and adds 2,000 contracts each month. The company needed to track these applications and contracts efficiently.
The Solution
CWB National Leasing implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS business intelligence (BI) and analytics tools. WebFOCUS serves as the foundation of a series of operational dashboards. An executive dashboard gives CWB’s senior management a high-level glance at how the business is doing, while departmental dashboards ensure that operational workers have information they need to keep business moving forward. In addition, reports are automatically sent to stakeholders on a scheduled basis, to keep information flowing in a timely manner. Beyond the dashboards, many users engage in “silver service” analytics – a form of self-service analytics defined by Wayne Eckerson of the Eckerson Group as “data and reports tailored to their specific roles – or delivered on a silver platter.”
