About The Customer
Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Inc. is a comprehensive pharmaceutical enterprise based in China, specializing in the development, research, production, and sales of pharmaceutical products. The company has experienced significant growth, with a 30 percent annual increase in revenue. To meet the rising quality standards and regulatory requirements in the Chinese market, Livzon decided to establish a new production and distribution site, Livzon Industrial Park, in Zhuhai near Macau. The company sought an advanced logistics solution to support its expanding operations and maintain high-quality standards.
The Challenge
Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Inc. faced the challenge of managing rapid growth and stringent quality requirements in the Chinese pharmaceutical market. With a 30 percent annual revenue growth, the company needed to build a new production and distribution site, Livzon Industrial Park, in Zhuhai near Macau. The primary challenge was to efficiently distribute products, perform continuous quality control, and meet regulatory requirements. The company required an advanced logistics system to handle the increasing demand and ensure smooth operations.
The Solution
Swisslog was selected as the logistics partner for Livzon's new site after competing against several suppliers. The automated logistics system designed and implemented by Swisslog includes a 23.5-meter high-bay warehouse with 15 pallet stacker cranes, pallet and case conveyors, a palletizing robot from KUKA, linear and loop shuttle car systems, and automated guided vehicles. The cornerstone of the automation concept is Swisslog’s proprietary warehouse management system and controls software. The system passed final acceptance in April 2014 and went through the ramp-up stage after pilot production in November 2013. It is currently operating well, meeting all key performance indicators.
