The Challenge

The combination of HP and Dell servers and Dell storage arrays was costly and complicated to administer and maintain. The organization relied on an outdated tape-based backup solution for offsite disaster recovery. Catastrophes had the potential to disrupt critical business applications for days or even weeks while systems were recovered.
The Solution
Surrey Place Centre replaced its siloed multivendor IT implementation with SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure. The SimpliVity solution accelerates data backup and disaster recovery while eliminating infrastructure cost and complexity. The organization deployed two 2U SimpliVity OmniStack with Cisco UCS nodes in its primary data center, replacing a half rack of legacy equipment. A redundant configuration ensures continuous availability in the event of hardware failures. A third SimpliVity node in a new remote colocation facility provides swift disaster recovery.
