About The Customer
Carrington Risk is a consulting firm with offices in Illinois and Florida that helps companies manage all types of risk across their properties — from fire to flood to earthquakes — to mitigate losses and negotiate the lowest possible insurance premiums. They are an insurance/risk management industry partner of Fulcrum. The company is led by CEO Kristin Carrington, who was seeking a solution to streamline the process of surveying client's properties for potential risks and creating detailed reports of her findings.
The Challenge
Carrington Risk, a consulting firm that helps companies manage all types of risk across their properties, was struggling with the process of surveying client's properties for potential risks. The CEO, Kristin Carrington, would have to take the paper report from the previous year with her and mark changes on it with a pen. Then she would go back to her office and create a new report of her findings — making changes to the Word document, entering recommendations, and matching up photos. These reports are often up to 50 pages long. Kristin knew there had to be an electronic solution to her report-writing problem, so she took to the Internet to find it.
The Solution
Kristin looked at mobile data collection platforms online, and explored several before deciding on Fulcrum. At the outset, Kristin was just looking for a mobile app that would let her design a form and add pictures to it. She didn’t even realize what she needed until she started working with Fulcrum and saw the benefits of adding location data to her records. Many of their clients didn’t even know where their buildings were located when they first met them, so it was great to be able to start with that. Kristin has worked closely with Fulcrum's Professional Services team to streamline her workflows and create custom reports.
