About The Customer
Scuderia Mensa is a Formula Student racing team from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The team has been participating in the international Formula Student competition since 2006, designing and building racing cars. The team is managed by Viola Mc Kearney, who is responsible for the implementation, administration, and financing of the project. The team's goal is to build a car that can compete against other teams in Formula Student competitions all over the world. To achieve this goal, the team relies on the support of partners, such as Bricsys and MERViSOFT.
The Challenge
Scuderia Mensa, a Formula Student racing team from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Germany, has been building racing cars for the international Formula Student competition since 2006. The team's challenge was to design the Monocoque for its 2020 racing car. The design process required a tool that was simple and intuitive to use, given the complexity of the project. The team also needed to ensure that the tool could be easily adopted by the students, who were balancing their studies with their participation in the Formula Student program. Furthermore, the team was reliant on the support of partners to construct its vehicle, adding another layer of complexity to the project.
The Solution
In 2020, Scuderia Mensa partnered with Bricsys to use BricsCAD® Mechanical for the design of car parts. BricsCAD® Mechanical was found to be a simple and intuitive tool for the team's project. To facilitate the adoption of the software, MERViSOFT, the local Bricsys partner, offered the students the opportunity to participate in a BricsCAD training course. This training was crucial for the team, as it allowed them to develop their skills in programs outside of their studies. The training ensured that the adoption of the software was quick and easy, allowing the team to focus on the design and construction of the car.
Operational Impact
  • The partnership with Bricsys and the use of BricsCAD® Mechanical provided Scuderia Mensa with a simple and intuitive tool for the design of their 2020 racing car. The training provided by MERViSOFT ensured that the adoption of the software was quick and easy, allowing the team to focus on the design and construction of the car. This resulted in a more efficient design process, as the team was able to leverage the capabilities of BricsCAD® Mechanical to design the car parts. Furthermore, the partnership with Bricsys and MERViSOFT provided the team with valuable support in the construction of the vehicle.
