About The Customer
DACHSER is one of the world’s leading logistics companies, combining the power of a multinational firm with the values of a traditional family-owned enterprise. Founded by Thomas Dachser in 1930 and headquartered in Kempten, the company consistently pursues a strategy focused on sustainability, supported by both shareholders and management. DACHSER's professional financial management emphasizes sustainable decision-making and continual, integrative growth, forming the commercial basis for the company's success.
The Challenge
DACHSER faced significant challenges in managing communication between its foreign subsidiaries and banks, leading to resource overhead and serious compliance and security concerns. The company aimed to achieve SEPA compliance and harmonize payment processes out of its ERP system, while reducing the complexity of formats, decentralized accounts, and local signatory rights.
The Solution
DACHSER implemented the TIS solution to automate and centralize its payment processes with banks. The solution covers formatting, bank connectivity, and management of distributed signatory rights. By delivering payment requests as iDocs to the TIS Bank Transaction Manager (BTM), DACHSER eliminated the need for customizing formats in SAP and managing connections through the EDI system. The cloud-based architecture of TIS allowed for easy access via browser, without the need for on-premise software installation. The master user approach facilitated the management of signatory rights, reducing the administrative burden significantly.
Operational Impact
  • The TIS solution provided an end-to-end solution for automated payment processing, covering formatting, bank connectivity, and management of signatory rights.
  • There was no need for bank formats customization in SAP, simplifying the process.
  • The cloud-based architecture allowed for easy access via browser, eliminating the need for on-premise software installation.
  • The master user approach facilitated the management of signatory rights, reducing the administrative burden significantly.
  • The solution ensured compliance with SEPA ISO 20022 XML, mitigating compliance risks.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Reduced the number of release and signatory authorizations from over 100 to just one electronic signature.
  • Streamlined payment processes across 17 regional accounting locations in Germany.
