The organization is located in Olympia, WA and has 26 member counties.
The Challenge
Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP) was established in 1988 to provide risk management and insurance solutions to counties across the State of Washington. The organization is committed to understanding and responding to the diverse risk and insurance needs of its members. In addition to providing comprehensive risk coverage, WCRP is dedicated to assisting members with loss control and the claims process. However, the organization faced challenges in managing the vast amount of data related to the assets of its members, which included approximately 2,900 buildings and 5,000 licensed vehicles with a total insurable value of over $2.5 billion. The organization also needed to track movable equipment and property in the open.
The Solution
To address its challenges, WCRP partnered with AssetWorks to implement the AMP Risk Software. The software is used by 28 users, including pool members and pool leadership, to manage the vast amount of data related to the assets of its members. The software has been a huge selling point for WCRP, especially with one of its members who was considering other insurance options. The fact that the system is user-friendly and that their assets are already in there was a significant advantage. The software has also streamlined the renewal process. With members having access to the system, they can enter data throughout the year, reducing the amount of work required during the renewal season. The member access and approval processes have also improved data quality, enabling WCRP to save time while providing their brokers and insurance companies with more data in a clearer format than before.

Less money is coming in as more people and organizations take steps to curb their energy use. Utilities are paying more to maintain and build infrastructure due to increasing complexity, resulting from the rising number of intermittent and variable renewable energy sources connected in the distribution grid.

Building Smart IoT-Connected Railways
• Difficult environment. Communications equipment on trains must function properly in harsh conditions, such as environment temperatures ranging from -25°C to +85°C, according to the EU standard EN50155.• Railway regulations. All products in a train must adhere to strict standards, relating to working vibration, power consumption, and lifetime.• Lengthy process. Time to market in the railway industry can take years from concept to mass production, so product design requires a solid long term vision.
