Agrei Consulting is a company that specializes in bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementations for projects that range from data migrations, to IT consulting, to managed services. They were tasked with a large-scale migration project for a global conglomerate client. The project involved migrating 40,000 mailboxes from Google to Office 365. The client's subsidiaries used a wide variety of email systems, including Exchange on-prem, Lotus, Google, hosted Exchange, Zimbra, among others.
The Challenge
Agrei Consulting was tasked with migrating a number of subsidiaries across more than a half dozen mail platforms within six months. The subsidiaries used a wide variety of email systems, including Exchange on-prem, Lotus, Google, hosted Exchange, Zimbra, among others. One subsidiary had all its 40,000 mailboxes on Google. Because Agrei had come to the project when it was already in progress, timelines were condensed, and these Google users needed to migrate within a month. The sheer scale of the project was daunting, and there were concerns about whether tech support staff were up to speed on the new technology and could handle the migration.
The Solution
Agrei chose BitTitan for the project for several reasons, including the estimated speed of the migration and the fact that no infrastructure was needed—the process would be 100% cloud-based. They tested BitTitan to see if it could perform in their scenario. Despite initial doubts due to Google's two-gigabyte throttle limit for migrating mail, they found that BitTitan was the right choice for the project. Important features of BitTitan included the ease of navigation, ability to easily set up multiple projects for different phases of the migration, the handling of tags, and the ability to “test” the migration to ensure it would succeed—prior to doing the actual migration.
