About The Customer
The customer in this case study is a large American Carrier Service Provider (CSP) that is in the process of deploying a 5G Non-Standalone network. The CSP operates in a complex network environment with multivendor devices. The company was facing challenges with high overall drop rates in their initial assessments of standard cell and subscriber performances. The CSP needed a solution that could provide a meaningful breakdown of network data with relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for deeper insights.
The Challenge
The deployment of 5G commercial networks is increasing, and initial assessments of standard cell and subscriber performances for one large American Carrier Service Provider (CSP) 5G Non-Standalone network revealed extremely high overall drop rates. In a complex network environment with multivendor devices, the CSP needed to triage the possible root cause and determine the impact on 5G subscribers. The challenge was to obtain a meaningful breakdown of network data with relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for deeper insights.
The Solution
The CSP turned to NETSCOUT's TrueCall Geo-Analytic application to address their challenge. TrueCall is a vendor-agnostic solution that enabled the team to automatically identify patterns for new and dropped 5G sessions, standardize configurations for 5G network equipment, discover 5G multi-vendor markets per subscribers, and learn details about subscriber and cell behaviors. With these insights from TrueCall, the CSP was able to quickly determine the root cause of the high overall 5G drop rates and reduce their impact on subscribers.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
